Canada are now top of the CONCACAF World Cup group with second USMNT and Mexico. After the match, Major League Soccer’s Twitter account posted a message praising Canada’s win with the words: “Ice in their veins” accompanied by a photo of Cyle Larin of Canada celebrating one of his goals.

The Galaxy account then responded by digging Martino saying: “Probably calling Julian, Efra and Chicharito” in reference to Julian Araujo, Efrain Alvarez and Javier Hernandez.

Chicharito, Mexico’s all-time leading goalscorer, has not featured for El Tri since September 2019 and has only played four games. Hernandez, 31, was this week named a finalist for Comeback Player of the Year for the 2021 MLS Year-End Awards.
